Make your own pear and passionfruit jam right at home with this easy recipe. A great spread for your breakfast toast or served with slow-cooked pork belly, this versatile ingredient is a must-have.
Ingreadient:
- 1kg Beurre Bosc pears
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 2 cups water
- Pulp of 10 passion fruit
- 1.5kg white sugar
Direction:
- Peel, core and finely dice the pears
- Put in a large deep saucepan with the lemon juice, water and passionfruit pulp
- Simmer until the fruit is tender, then add the sugar, stirring to dissolve
- Boil rapidly until setting point is reached. Test by placing a teaspoonful of the jam on a cold saucer, then pop in the freezer for a few minutes, the jam should be firm and hold its shape
- When ready, fill the hot jam into hot sterilized jars and seal
